Artist's Bio:
KJ Bedford is an emerging photo-based artist that most recently exhibited her work in CONTACT 2008 - Contacting Toronto: Memories for the City She received an Honours Bachelor of Arts from McMaster University with a combined degree in Multimedia and Visual Art. Bedford has also studied Applied Photography at Sheridan College.
KJ works as a freelance photographer and is the Audience Development Coordinator for Cambridge Galleries. Her photographic documentation has recently been published in Border Crossings magazine, Canadian Art Online, C Magazine, and in several Canadian exhibition catalogues.
For Bedford, the making a photograph operates as a departure point for her artistic process. KJ is interested in making art accessible to the public. In her work, KJ investigates the use of unconventional exhibition spaces while preserving traditional photo-based technologies. She enjoys roller coasters and the occasional Slurpie.
