Artist's Statement:

I feel strongly that architectural modifications to historic Ontario buildings are documented photographically. Southern Ontario is growing to accommodate the needs of twenty-first century lifestyle and economic demand. As this growth occurs, I am interested in the changes that happen over time to the surfaces of the buildings.

My past work focused the lens on documenting the city of Kitchener. To me this means to seek out the rich and interesting history of the community. One can see the photographic evidence of change in Kitchener’s architecture, documented in the city’s archives. It is astounding how in less than two hundred years the cityscape has continuously changed with the demand of modernization and global economy. With time and demand the landscape of the city has transformed. It is the rich architectural history that most interests me in my photographic documentation of the urban area Kitchener has become today.
